In August 2023, there was a very favorable change in the utilization of investment incentives specified in Government Decree 210/2014. (VIII. 27.), which contains the conditions for VIP Cash Grant.
According to the modification, investments in assets worth up to 10 million EUR in Budapest may receive VIP Cash Grant, and the donor has also reduced the investment value thresholds in other locations.
Minimum project sizes:
10 million EUR - in Budapest, but only technology aimed at renewable energy production and storage may be subsidized, which can be up to 50% of the total investment value;
10 million EUR - in the most developed county seats (Győr, Székesfehérvár, Tatabánya, Szekszárd, Kecskemét, Szombathely, Veszprém, Debrecen, Szeged, Eger);
5 million EUR - in every district seat, and in some county seats (Salgótarján, Miskolc, Nyíregyháza, Békéscsaba, Pécs, Kaposvár, and Szolnok);
3 million EUR- in all other locations.
This amendment brought a favorable turn regarding the retention of corporate workforce, opening up new paths for companies in the introduction of automation and cutting-edge technologies.
