According to the announcement, the call titled “Funding for focus area innovation projects” under GINOP Plus 2.1.1-24 is expected to be expanded with two new components and will likely become available under significantly more favorable conditions.
Under Component ‘A’, smaller projects will be eligible for funding between HUF 100–600 million, while Component ‘B’ will target larger projects with expected funding between HUF 600–1,200 million.

The previously required dividend-related eligibility condition is expected to be removed for both components.

Main rules of the GINOP Plus 2.1.1-24 call
The “Funding for focus area innovation projects” call supports R&D projects implemented in one of the following three priority areas:
- Supporting preventive, therapeutic and healthcare systems for maintaining a healthy life
- Supporting the green transition of the economy and the development of a circular economy, with a special focus on energy and agricultural technologies
- One of the priorities of the Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3), including:
- Advanced technologies
- Health
- Digitalisation of the economy
- Energy and climate
- Services
- Resource-efficient economy
- Agriculture and food industry
- Creative industries
- Education and training
- Public sector and university innovation

Key conditions
The call is available for SMEs and large enterprises under the following conditions:
- Available across the entire territory of Hungary
- Industrial (applied) research: up to 50% support intensity (maximum 80%)
- Experimental development: up to 25% support intensity (maximum 60%)
- Advance payment: up to 30%, capped at HUF 240 million
- Project duration: maximum 24 months from project start

Submission periods
The submission windows are also expected to change:
- Phases 4–6: 4–18 November 2025
- Phases 8–11: 24 February – 10 March 2026
