A significant opportunity has opened for companies to receive subsidy for their energy developments! On Monday, Lantos Csaba, the Minister of Energy, announced the launch of the Jedlik Ányos Energy Program, under which a total of 440 billion HUF in support will be available through 10 different calls for proposals.
What developments can the subsidy be applied for?
The goal of the energy subsidy program is to increase companies’ energy efficiency and strengthen their energy independence. The program provides funding for the following areas:
Improving Corporate Energy Efficiency – More Modern, Economical Energy Use
Example:
An automotive supplier company installs energy-efficient LED lighting in manufacturing halls, modernizes compressed air systems, and sets up a heat recovery system to utilize waste heat. These measures result in a 20% energy savings, reducing operating costs and CO2 emissions.
Subsidy for Energy-Producing and Energy-Storage Facilities – More Stable, Independent Energy Supply
Example:
A logistics center installs its own solar park to increase energy independence. A high-capacity lithium-ion battery storage system is also connected to the system, allowing the company to use the generated energy during peak periods. This significantly reduces dependence on the grid and electricity costs.
Biogas and Biomethane Production – Sustainable Energy Production
Example:
An agricultural company establishes a biogas plant where manure and other organic waste from animal husbandry are converted into biogas. The produced biogas is used for electricity generation and heating, while the fermented organic material is returned to the fields as natural fertilizer. This reduces fossil fuel usage and environmental impact.
Energy Research and Development – Innovation in the Energy Industry
Example:
A university and an energy company initiate a joint research and development project to develop next-generation, high-efficiency heat pumps. The goal is to create a system capable of efficiently extracting energy from low-temperature heat sources, significantly reducing heating costs for both industrial and residential applications. The project results in a new prototype, enabling market launch in the future.
Subsidy for Geothermal Energy Use – Environmentally Friendly Solutions
Example:
A new office complex uses a geothermal heat pump system for heating and cooling, utilizing energy from the earth’s heat. A significant portion of the building’s energy demand is met through geothermal energy, minimizing fossil fuel usage, reducing operating costs, and contributing to sustainability.
Modernization of District Heating Systems – More Efficient and Sustainable Energy Supply
Example:
As part of modernizing an urban district heating system, old uninsulated pipes are replaced with pre-insulated pipes, reducing heat loss. Additionally, the system’s heat source is partially switched to biomass-based boilers, making district heating more efficient and environmentally friendly by reducing fossil fuel use and greenhouse gas emissions.
Who should apply?
The energy subsidy program is particularly beneficial for companies focusing solely on energy-related developments, without plans to expand their production capacity. The government especially encourages the installation of energy storage systems, and significant funding is also allocated for creating and developing energy-producing equipment.
