The „Workers’ Accommodation in the Private Sector” subsidy, announced by the OFA National Employment Public Benefit Nonprofit Ltd., is intended for the construction of workers’ accommodations or the conversion of existing properties into workers’ accommodations. The state aid is only available in Hungary, excluding Budapest, and aims to provide accommodation options for employees working in the private sector.
Eligible Projects:
- Construction of workers’ accommodations for at least 80, but no more than 200 employees, or the conversion of existing properties into workers’ accommodations.
Amount of Subsidy:
The subsidy depends on the size of the company and the location of the investment, as it changes based on the regional aid map. The maximum intensity is determined by the company’s size and the planning-statistical regions of the investment’s location:
- Small enterprises: 50-75%
- Medium-sized enterprises: 40-70%
- Large enterprises: 30-60%
Maximum Subsidy Amounts:
- For construction: HUF 671,000 per square meter, HUF 6,710,000 per accommodation unit.
- For renovation: HUF 480,000 per square meter, HUF 4,800,000 per accommodation unit.
Advance Payment:
An advance payment of 75% of the subsidy can be requested in two installments.
Eligible Applicants:
Business entities that:
- Have at least three completed fiscal years.
- Employ no more than 12,000 employees.
- For business groups, the number of employees of affiliated and partner companies must be taken into account.
- Request the subsidy for their own employees or those of their contractual partners.
Obligations and Deadlines:
- The established workers’ accommodation must be operated as workers’ accommodation for at least 10 years.
- At least 50% of the occupied accommodation units must be used to house Hungarian employees.
- The final deadline for the supported investment: October 31, 2027.
